A Little Advice

At Yachtsun we want you to enjoy your sailing holiday to the fullest, whilst we cannot always promise sun and the perfect sailing conditions, we can help you choose a holiday to meet your expectations, so talk to us.

Your First Sailing Holiday?

Then do consider - yachting is not the same as a cruise on a luxury liner with air conditioning. In fact it is better compared (depending on the size of yacht) with camping or caravanning on water. There is very little privacy on a sailing yacht and at times it can feel like it is you against the elements. Nevertheless, whether you choose Skipper Charter or Learn-to-Sail, you will experience a real escape from routine, the exhilaration of wind in your hair and the thrill of visiting remote islands.

If you are not sure about life aboard, then consider a sailing holiday with accommodation ashore or call us for some practical advice and benefit from our experience.

Which Yacht Should You Choose?

We offer yachts to satisfy different requirements and not just in size. Our 'Classic' yachts are older boats but for some they provide an opportunity to sail a 'private looking' yacht with its own characteristics. If you prefer sailing a bright new yacht that matches the rest of the flotilla then you should consider chartering a New Bavaria or one of our other new or more modern yachts to avoid disappointment. Whichever yacht you choose it will be well maintained, with the benefit of a backup service provided by the yacht base or an appointed yacht breakdown service.

Are You Ready To Sail?

Experienced skipper or doing your first charters you should remember that you are responsible for the yacht and the crew once you have taken over the boat. So during the Take-Over briefing be sure to make the most of this time, involve another member of crew, take notes if necessary. Most of all be sure you are satisfied with your knowledge of the yacht and its equipment before you leave the base... Turn round days can be busy for the base staff, nevertheless do not let this stop you asking for clarification or extra information necessary for you to be safe and have an enjoyable sailing holiday.

The yacht base staff are there to see you get the most out of your holiday, that way they hope to see you again next year, so if there is anything you have not been told, or extra information you would like, just ask they will be pleased to help.

Ready to Book?

Please remember to check for Additional Costs like bed linen, Transit Log, Transfer Costs, Marina Charges, also Optional Extras and Security Deposits. All these are shown on the price lists and they do vary with each location so be sure to check which apply to your chosen Yacht.
